The surge in tourist numbers to Spain, Canaries and Balearics this year will be welcomed by those letting their properties. An all-time record was broken in August with 7.64 million foreign visitors according to a Frontur survey. This represents a 9.4% increase on August 2010. With 40 million tourists so far, this is already a 9.4% increase on last year. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has declared Spain likely to record higher levels of growth in 2012 than France, Italy or Greece.
