Sales volumes in the second quarter have jumped 22% in Spain according to new Spanish government statistics with overseas property buyers surging by 23%. The Alicante region (Costa Blanca) was top with 2,308 homes sold and in second place was the Malaga (Costa del Sol) region with slightly less than half that number sold at 1,110. Santa Cruz de Tenerife on the Canaries showed 599 sales and the Balearic Islands 567. Property prices are also nudging upwards in the Alicante and Murcia regions according to a 100,000 property survey.
