It's always nice when someone says something good about what you do, isn't it? Those of us who work for Let's Live Abroad! cherish all the postcards, letters and/or personal 'thank yous' you send us. On this page you can read what some of our friends have said about us...

Mike Campbell from Sale in Cheshire wrote: -

We were greeted with a voicemail from Joyce Marsh from Edinburgh in the morning who was gushing with excitement about her new purchase: -

"Thank you all so much for what you've done. I never wanted to leave Europe and now I've abandoned the sinking ship and plan to become a real Spanish citizen. What made me flip was walking back to the hotel after 10 at night in the warm air and seeing people swimming in the sea. I thought... That's it! I want some of that! That's what did it for me! Everybody has been so helpful. I wanted a small extension built and that's being sorted, so is my bank account, notary, NIE number... Everything!"

Julie Grice bought her apartment in Alicante city: -

"I'm really happy! The first guy who took me round was lovely and I got to see six or seven, 2 bedroom properties before being picked up by Freddy. We saw a few more properties including a 3 bedroom one. I felt a bit scared that I hadn't seen any I liked. But I was taken for a coffee and Carl came across another in the area I liked and found the keys. It had been shut up and had a bit of a smell, but when I was shown round, it was exactly what I wanted! Freddy said I should take my time and think it through but I had made my mind up. We went for a drink at the Emerald Isle and spoke to some other ex-pats about living here. I loved the house and told Carl. It was on for nearly €100,000, so I made an offer and got it! Freddy helped me with everything, opening a bank account, sorting utilities etc. Everyone needs a Freddy!"

Dave Metsh came back after buying a beautiful new off plan property and told us about the service: -

"After considering it for more than a decade, the Patersons decided to take the plunge and buy a flat in Spain. When railway worker Ron, 62, was made redundant last year, it was the final push he and wife Ethel, 49, needed. One day the couple were driving by the Swallow Hotel in Glasgow and popped in to a Let's Live Abroad! roadshow. Fourteen months later, they are planning their new life in Spain. Ethel said: 'We first visited Torrevieja in November 2009 to look at some properties for a couple of days. We saw 15 places but, as we were finishing up, the estate agent showed us one that had just come on the market - and that was it. As soon as we saw it, Ron said, 'This is for us'. We got it for 75,000 euros. Since then we have been going over for wee holidays and fitted a new bathroom and kitchen'. Ron and Ethel will finally move to Spain for good in 2013 - once the youngest of their two children finishes school. And that can't come quickly enough for the couple, who have lived in their Rutherglen four-in -a-block for 20 years. Ethel said: 'It's just a different lifestyle, the culture is wonderful and the people so friendly. The best thing we ever did was to stop off at the Swallow Hotel.'"

After picking up a bargain in Spain, Mr and Mrs Connor from Wishaw reports: -

"Everything was fine! We found just what we wanted and would recommend this to anybody!"

Derek Stuart from Renfrew kindly sent this e-mail detailing his experience of one of our inspection tours in Spain: -

Just back from our 4 day inspection tour in Spain, and what a fantastic experience it was as well. We were picked up at the airport by our Spanish consultant who asked if we would prefer to go to our hotel or straight to a viewing. Our choice was to go for a viewing. We had already sent an e-mail with our budget, type of property, location... When I say location, we did not want beachfront, busy bars, and partying all night. (Been there and done all that!) The consultant had a selection of properties for us to view, and asked a few questions on our lifestyle, likes and dislikes.
We arrived at the first viewing. A new-build, key-ready, 2 bedroom; 2 bathroom, kitchen, living room, 2 balconies and a communal pool on the roof. Wow! We were bowled over and in a small lovely Spanish town, just like you see in the movies! It was almost a first view sale!
The consultant said he had a few others for us to view so we went for a long Spanish lunch and had a chat. We discarded 6 properties: Only one bedroom, or in a high rise. He showed us schedules of a few others that looked promising, but I honestly thought you wont beat the first one.
We then went and saw another new-build on a golf course. Fantastic property, but the golf course life was not for us.
The consultant was fantastic. He was a mine of information, on local geography; history... No bull; only facts, good and bad. A real top guy. In the background was his partner from the office who was at home as his wife is due their first baby. But he was on the phone, on the computer, feeding information all day long.
Back to the hotel to check-in and a cold beer. 9pm! We could not believe it. We had a walk round the town and down to the front. It was just perfect.
9:30am, next morning we were away to our next choice enjoying a scenic drive and learning lots on the way. This was a re-sale on a 5-year-old complex. And WWWOOOWWW!!!! A 2 bedroom; one bathroom maisonette on the top floor AND we had the whole roof to ourselves. Fully furnished, including all white goods. It looked very Spanish on the outside, but very British inside. Bigger rooms and more practical all round. My gorgeous wife fell in love with it straight away, and I was not far behind her!
The consultant took us back to the first property again; we chatted with the builder who could finance, the whole thing for us, so with all the figures we went for another long Spanish lunch. We had a decision to make. If only the other property had been in this town that would have been sold. The consultant spoke to us one at a time and asked our thoughts on each property. THERE WAS NO PRESSURE WHATSOEVER! As it turned out, we both wanted the second property!
So a phone call to the office and an offer was placed. Then we headed back to have another look at the property. The offer was accepted early in the evening, but the consultant stayed with us till it came through and took us to a shopping mall. It was huge, selling everything you could ever want.
When we got the confirmation, we looked at our watch: 8:30pm. Ooops! We said to the consultant: You get home to your family; have an early night. He must have covered hundreds of miles and he bought all the lunches; a mine of information and not a hint of pressure.
Thursday, 9:30am he picked us up and took us to show us around what will be our local town. We got maps, went to the town hall (they do free Spanish lessons), and then he took us to a bank to meet a lovely Spanish girl who spoke perfect English, to open a Spanish bank account. This is not a five-minute job. A lot of paper work but all explained to us in perfect English. Then a dash cross-country to see a lawyer. He was actually on holiday but came in just to help us out as we were flying out the next morning! Can you see that happening back home?
12:00am. Job done! Deposit paid. The lawyer has the Power of Attorney so we go back when it's time to pick up the keys. Simples!
The consultant still offered to stay with us and drive us around. We went shopping, were taken to lunch again before parting ways at 5pm.
We were picked up at 9am the next morning and taken to the airport in plenty of time for our flight home. It was a truly great experience, and a great deal for us too. In our opinion, now is the time to buy property as the prices can't go much lower. We are in a recession and you see it. But it will come back, big time! There are plenty of bargains to be had. Our seller's price had dropped £13,000 in the last two weeks, but the bank's valuation was still high. These bargains are getting snapped up!

Not everyone buys, of course, but that didn't stop Mrs Steenson from Dumfries sharing this with us: -

"I couldn't fault your office in Turkey and Mr Yardici's professionalism. I was taken round a beautiful apartment for less than £29,000 but it's a big decision to make. Don't worry, I'm going to sort a few things out and will definately be going back. I love Turkey."

Mr Keyte from Campbelltown wrote: -

Mr and Mrs J Timmins from Edinburgh were delighted with their purchase in Spain: -

And its Turkey again for Senga Ross from Forres who writes with an offer to future prospective buyers: -

"As usual your staff did everything to make our stay an enjoyable one and I only had to ask for help and they gave it. I believe you will be promoting the new apartment we bought here and in Ireland and I hope they sell well. We are very pleased about the facilities on offer such as indoor pool, fitness room, sauna, 2 outdoor pools and restaurant area as we will be able to use our apartment all year round. The choice to have a flexible payment plan has also made the process of buying less stressful and I'm sure this will allow other clients without immediate funds to buy also. If anyone would like to speak to me or email me directly about our experiences in Altinkum I would not mind you passing on my email or number. In the meantime it was nice to speak to you again and I hope Let's Live Abroad! continues to do well."

Andrew Fergusson from Ladybank in Fife sent an especially nice letter to us: -

Once in Turkey the team out there, Ergin, Sakir, Katrina and Mick treated me like a family member. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I bought a property in Didim and am happy that everything is true and genuine. Turkey is such a diverse culture to ours and I am going to live there full-time in the sort of heat you dream about."

R Galloway told The Sunday Mail about his experience buying a home through Let’s Live Abroad! in Italy: -

“I booked an inspection trip right away with Let’s Live Abroad! We loved everything about the area (Calabria). There are quaint little towns and villages where it looks as though they’ve had the same way of life for decades. There are gorgeous little village squares with groups of old men playing dominos in the shade and cafes with bustling tables of large Italian families having their dinner. Everyone was so friendly and we immediately fell in love with the place. We plan to rent it when we’re not using it and this area of Calabria is really popular with Italians from the north who visit in July and August. It’s early days but we have talked about moving abroad and we both love Italy. It would be a nice place to raise the kids. The weather is great and the way of life is so laid-back. We’re definitely planning to go there a couple of times on holiday before our apartment to complete to get more of a taste for the area. Living there is our ultimate goal – but it’s a dream that seems a little more attainable now we’ve got our own place in Italy.”

One of the most flattering accolades we have received as a company is from the Smith family. They bought a lovely off-plan property at Laguna Green in Los Montesinos, not far from Torrevieja in Spain. It seems a popular place for many of our clients. Indeed, our agents Ernie and Jennifer from Dumfries bought one themselves and would be happy to tell you all about it if you want to call us and leave your number.

John Smith had the idea of setting up a community website for residents and this is what he wrote about us on his website: -

"When we decided to take the plunge and start to look for a holiday home in Spain it was very confusing at first. There are so many companies that want to take you on viewing trips we decided to be a little different and visit the Murcia region firstly by ourselves to get the feel of the place and see where we liked. We had been reading the Scottish Sunday Mail and one company was always receiving great comeback, this was Lets Live Abroad! We eventually went to one local roadshow and booked an inspection trip. At Alicante airport we were met by two reps who were going to show around some properties. Murray and Rachel Willox were another lovely couple of clients who spoke to our Adam. After their tour of Costa Blanca North, Murray headed his e-mail "happy bunnies" and wrote: -

"Had a great time on our two-day trip to Calpe. The hotel was fantastic and so were the staff. Mark was able to find properties to suit my budget. We decided to go ahead with the purchase of the first property we were shown in a town called Relleu, about 10km inland from Benidorm. We met with the development's agent and proceded to draw up the contract and pay the initial deposit. Both Rachael and myself really liked the property and had good feelings from it. It ticked our boxes. When I do come to sell and move higher up the ladder I will have no hesitation dealing through Let's Live Abroad! Thank you for your help and guidance through the procedures and getting us to where we want to be."

Robert and Helen Lamprecht from Whitburn also told the The Sunday Mail about their inspection visit with Let's Live Abroad! to the Costa Tropical region in Spain: -

"We wish we'd done it years ago. Helen's always fancied it but I'm more cautious and was concerned that we'd be getting ourselves in too deep financially. Now that our mortgage is paid off and our two sons are grown up and out of the house, we decided it was finally time to take the plunge. We're really excited about it. We just loved the place. It's right beside a quaint little Andalucian village yet we'll have the best of both worlds, being in a brand new apartment. We're in the heart of 'old Spain' in one sense but in a modern flat with great facilities. We'll be living in a gated complex with indoor and outdoor pools and a gym for residents. Of course, not everyone buys on an inspection visit. Marcia Vincent wrote: -

“I have just returned to Aberdeen after visiting the Costa Blanca on one your inspection trips. I did not commit myself to buying one of your properties on this trip but I wanted to thank Tony and the rest of the Let’s Live Abroad! team for all their efforts before and during my stay. I plan to rent a house for a short while before I commit myself to buying. From the minute that Tony collected me from the airport he could not have been more helpful and attentive, I have learnt so much from Tony and hope that I can put all his information and advice to use soon. It is obvious that there are many companies operating in the Costa Blanca selling property but my experience over the past week has shown me that Let’s Live Abroad! is a company with high standards and staff that really care about their customers. I hope that I will be one in the near future.”

Alistair Scott wanted to share his experience of an Inspection Tour of Calabria in Italy: -
